Florida’s Future Insurance Leaders
Florida's Future Insurance Leaders is a leadership immersion program designed to attract high caliber agents and help them develop through education and mentorship to become future leaders in the insurance industry and their community. The program is offered every other year.
We are now accepting applications for the 2018-2019 FFIL program! Application deadline is Sept. 18, 2018.
Criteria for admission
- Participation is open only to existing members of the FAIA Young Agents Council.
- Candidates must be sponsored and supported by their agency to apply and participate.
- Candidates must have a minimum of three years in the insurance agency business, with preference given to those with five years or more (exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis). Maximum age of candidate: 40 years.
- Candidates are required to submit a completed application, a letter of commitment signed by applicant and sponsor, and a check for the $50 application fee.
FFIL Program Sessions
Candidates must attend four FFIL Program Sessions and are strongly encouraged to be active in their local YAC zones, local boards, and in the community. More information and details will be provided during the first FFIL session. Your assigned mentors will also offer guidance.
Leadership Introduction, December 3–5, 2018
Held the week of the December FAIA Board meeting, classes will cover leadership and introduce mentoring and reporting requirements. Also, orientation and history of FAIA, IIABA, Trusted Choice and TrustedChoice.com, and FAIA Member Services. Students also will attend the FAIA Board meeting.

Political Summit, March 19–20, 2019
Held the week of Capitol Days, this session includes training in political action and the legislative process, meetings with legislators, and the YAC InsurPac-A-Thon.
Convention Networking and Carrier Relationships, June 19–21, 2019
Held the week of the Convention and Education Symposium, this session provides opportunities for networking and informal meetings with mentors. Attendance is required for all Convention-related YAC events.
