Workforce Development
Ensuring the longevity and prosperity of the American Agency System is an important part of FAIA’s education mission. FAIA programs help support students—whether they are going from classroom to career, extending their education in college, or currently in college—with pertinent curriculum, job shadowing opportunities, scholarships, and internships. FAIA also offers classroom support for teachers and a wealth of insurance resources for those new to the business.
InVEST
InVEST is an insurance-education program designed to develop the insurance work force of the future. InVEST programs are active in 200 high schools nationally with more than 30 in Florida.

University and College Partnerships
FAIA, fueled by the fundraising and organizational efforts of the Good Works Fund, is aggressively promoting risk management and insurance associate degree programs to Florida state colleges. The number of state colleges now offering such programs has more than doubled:
- Broward College
- Palm Beach State College
- Polk State College
- Santa Fe College
- Seminole State College
- St. Johns River State College
- St. Petersburg College
- State College of Florida
The ultimate goal is to connect students looking for viable career opportunities with agencies that are ready to hire them. Contact Dave Newell to see how you can help.
Building Insurance Communities
Toward that end, FAIA is building “insurance communities” around the state to support these colleges. Volunteers are needed to teach classes, speak to students, give presentations, open their agencies to student tours, provide internships, and hire graduates.
Learn More and Volunteer
FAIA continues to support the Dr. William T. Hold/The National Alliance Program in Risk Management and Insurance at FSU. Through the Good Works Fund, FAIA provides three named scholarships—the Bob Ross, Tom C. Johnson, and William "Buddy" T. McCue—to FSU risk management students.
